A Visitor from Fushun

And the LORD shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him. Psalm 37:40

When I traveled to Fushun this summer, our team became friends with the director of the orphanage. She is an amazing woman who deeply loves all the children she watches over. She desires to help her children and is very much like a mother to each and every one of them. Friends of mine, Bob and Pat Hawley have been friends with her for the past two years. While in Fushun, Bob and Pat saw the needs for a baby who had club feet. They desired to give this child whatever he needed so he would one day be able to walk. They have spent the last 6 months in contact with Fushun encouraging them to allow PHF to take in this child and get him the necessary casting for his feet. Because of the trust they have built, Madame Zhu was willing to bring this child to Shepherd's Field.

Whenever we are faced with something, even if it is only club feet, God promises us that He will help us when we trust in Him. Bob and Pat's desires of their heart were fulfilled this week. On Tuesday, December 16th, Madame Zhu arrived at PHF. Not only did they bring this young boy to be taken care of but they also viewed the facilities to see if it would meet the needs for two of their Cerebral Palsy (CP) children. They desire to have these children receive Physical Therapy in hopes that one day they may be able to walk. They have their own therapy department but they were seeking individuals who have been working with CP children. It is so exciting to know that God has given PHF the talents here to be able to help the children. This is also allowing us to help the Chinese. Nothing would be more amazing than to continue to train the native Chinese so they can treat their own children's needs.
A big part of the progress PHF made re: therapy and training of the staff is due to Carrie Mills. She is a Speech-Language Pathologist from Virginia. She has been a faithful servant here at PHF for the past two years. She has helped train a team of 7 women that perform occupational, physical and speech-language therapy. On Wednesday, Carrie returned to the US. Please keep these women in prayer as they have all grown to love and respect Carrie and are now here missing her and feeling alone. Though they have guidance here from other staff, it is not the same. Carrie, too, is waiting on Him to guide her for the next step. She may return here. Only time will tell. Carrie was also able to meet Madame Zhu. Madame Zhu is highly interested in having someone in Fushun to train her team. One never knows what the Lord has planned. I am hoping that Carrie will travel with our team when we return to Fushun again in June. I look forward to seeing the plans that He has in store for all of us who desire to serve Him by caring for the children.
